A dancer is an artist who uses the body as the canvas and the music as the colour. Channeling through the lenses of ballet, bellydance and flowarts Denyse interprets the music around her into enchanting freestyle performances and complex choreographies. Denyse Dansereau is a dancer, insured fire and circus performer, choreographer and fan enthusiast. Denyse started dancing at the age of 3 years old and has trained in ballet, jazz, tribal fusion, burlesque, in addition to the fire arts. Denyse has performed at various festivals including Atmosphere Gathering, North Country Fair, Astral Harvest, Sweetwater 905, in addition to smaller festivals and events around Northern Alberta and BC both as a solo artist and performing with various troupes in BC and Alberta. Denyse has had the opportunity to teach at workshops at the North Country Fair, Spin Out Festival, Madskillz, and Astral Harvest Music Festival in addition to weekly fire fan classes through Ignisia Circus and private lessons. In 2016 & 2019 she won the CanSpin Awards Fan Spinner of the Year. Denyse currently resides in beautiful Cumberland British Columbia with her partner and dog and looks forward to growing the North American Tech Fan movement in Canada

Intro to North American Fan Tech |
In this workshop we will be covering the fundamentals of fan spinning. This will include grips, relations and basic fan movements including glides and folds. This course is for the beginner or any fan spinner looking to brush up on the basics. Course is intended for North American fan tech but can be applied to Russian grip fans as well. Class will begin with a short warm up and conclude with a cool down. Some sets of Doodle Grip(TM) fans will be provided, please feel free to bring your own set.

Intermediate American Fan Tech |
In this workshop we will be covering intermediate fan tech. This will include flowers. Weaves and other intermediate fan movements including isolations and transitions. This course is for the intermediate fan spinner or any fan spinner looking to bring their tech to the next lev. Course is intended for North American fan tech but can be applied to Russian grip fans as well. Class will begin with a short warm up and conclude with a cool down. Some sets of Doodle Grip(TM) fans will be provided, please feel free to bring your own set.

Silk Fans 101 |
In this class we will cover basics of silk fans including hand placement, opening your fans and closing them. From there we will move into more movements such as turns, hits, flutters, weaves and claps playing with levels and planes. After drilling movements class will culminate in a short and fun choreography putting together everything we learned. Class will begin with a short warm-up and will culminate in a brief cooldown and recap
